Karateka of the Month
What is Karateka of the Month:
Every month our karateka, karate students, work hard on their training and life skills. To help support them, we have created a point system (which changes every month) to give them ideas on how they can improve their individual training, show their dedication, work on life skills and more. The Karateka of the Month is awarded to the student that received the most points during the preceding month.
What are some examples of tasks students can do to receive points?
Every week, we release a quiz (worth 2 pts if they complete it before the due date). Furthermore, many of the quizzes include the opportunity for bonus points. They receive points when parents confirm that practiced their material outside of class time.
There are also tasks related to our Monthly Theme. These are a great opportunity for student to rake in some points creating, and focusing on a specific aspect of their karatedo training. Which will, in turn, teach them important lessons like time management, self reliance, self discipline and more.
Can parents get involved?
We encourage parents to get involved in helping their little ninjas succeed in their training. This applies to the Karateka of the Month as well.
Can the Sensei give points whenever they want?
No. One of our goals in creating this point system is to put the responsibility on the student. There are some tasks in which the Sensei must witness something for the point to be awarded. However, these are very specific circumstances, for example, not complaining about wearing a mask during class time.
